Jonathan Pearson – Head of Junior Development

Jonathan joins the academy staff with a vision of making the junior programme at Cookridge Hall the very best in the country.

As well as developing his knowledge through the PGA, Jonathan is also studying for his Titleist Performance Institute qualification (TPI). The TPI certification shows that the professional has reached a level of golf fitness expertise that surpasses, and continues to surpass the competition. With a passion for junior coaching, Jonathan is currently a TPI Level 3 junior coach, one of only a handful of coaches in Europe to hold this prestigious qualification.

Jonathan's previous position saw him head the Nike Junior Academy programme at Oulton Hall. Within 8 months of starting the role, Jonathan transformed the Academy growing the weekly participants from 9 to 88 within his time there.

As well as junior tuition, Jonathan is equally happy coaching adults and beginner group lessons on the range and the golf course. Always looking to help golfers gain knowledge he places huge emphasis on course management. Simple, friendly and knowledgeable, Jonathan aims to create a golfing experience to suit everyone.

With a strong interest in health and fitness, Jonathan is also trained to deliver a physical limitation screen that he looks to incorporate with all his clients which makes the teaching process much more efficient

Paul O'Donnell – Elite Performance Coach

Paul has now taken on a role focusing on elite player development. Through his work with Jon Finn (Pre-Shot Golf and TougherMinds creator) Paul has become a Pre-Shot Technical coach. As a former Challenge Tour and Euro Pro Tour player, Paul has a wealth of experience playing at the top of the modern game. Paul's experience and knowledge of elite development stems from playing his junior and amateur golf at Sandmoor Golf club during the 1990's, a period that the club is famed for its players and achievements.

Paul, Jonathan and Cookridge Hall are currently 4 years into a 20 year plan to develop several European and PGA tour players. During this time Paul has been recognised by the English Golf Union and Golf Foundation as he is the only 'Community Coach' in Leeds. Paul was in 2011 given the prestigious award of the Leeds Sports Coach of the Year, which was gained by some of his fantastic work here at the academy and also the local community developing the game.

Paul has played and worked with some of the world's leading coaches and players, gaining an invaluable knowledge of the game. Paul is a Titleist Performance Institute fitness instructor, an 'Aimpoint' putting instructor and carry's the afore mentioned title, Pre-Shot Technical Coach.

Elite golf sessions can include video, 'Tomi' putting and 'Golfsense' swing analysis so that coaching sessions can focus on the finest details of 'The greatest game ever played!'
